my blog has been too interesting
Lately my blog has been too interesting, which really bores me. All these pictures of rock concerts and exotic dancers have really taken me far away from where I started.
So let's talk about rugs. Why do they buckle? We have a rug in our hallway that buckles, but it has padding under it -- shouldn't that keep it stable? What do I know?
Also, I've had very good luck parking lately. When Destroyer played the Elbo Room, I got a space just two doors down. Those of you who live in the Bay Area (particularly in the city) will certainly appreciate how much this means (right on Valencia for crying out loud!). Those of you who do not must understand that parking three blocks or less of a venue in the Mission District is a titanic achievement.
Sarah and I saw Maria Shriver (sp?) in our local deli. She doesn't look well. I wonder what she ate... probably some kind of infused pesto bean salad reduction for 9 dollars an ounce. At least that's what all the moms buy their little well-dressed kids named Ashton Wethercock III.
More later on the objectionable people who frequent our deli -- someday I fear I may become one of them, which is why I need to listen to "Breaking the Law" and "God Gave Rocknroll to You" at least four times a day.

When I was about ten I saw my first nationally famous person, a B Western hero named Wild Bill Elliot. No one remembers him now, but his movies still appear on the Western Channel on my cable TV at least once a week.He was called "Wild" because he played a grim Wild Bill Hickock in a series of oaters.
I saw him at Bill Snodgrass's small roping arena in Lynwood. This would have been in the early 1940s when there were still a few working cowboys around Hollywood movie lots, the guys you see riding in posses after the black hats. They could actually ride horses and rope and so on. I suppose they brought Bill Elliot to the roping arena, and for all I know, he could rope. But he could not eat bean salad like Maria Shriver. He ate T-bone steaks and only the best bits.
I saw a lot of the Snodgrass family. The only one I liked was Pete, who was younger than I was. Also they had a fine police dog named Duke. The story was that the Snodgrasses were too busy to take care of Pete when he was little, so they put him in their fenced back yard, and the dog raised him. When Pete grew up he became a policeman.
I think the Maria Shriver sighting was very interesting. The parking comments, however, are intensely boring.

Au contraire, Sarah. Parking in Philly is only marginally better than SF. I nearly cried when I got a spot two blocks from the theater last night...
Rugs that buckle are an ungodly mess. How about rugs that do not buckle, have furniture placed on them, but are at a slight angle, not straight. Every time you enter the room you look, and it's not right! The furniture is too heavy to move and you can't fix it!!!!It's askew, and there isn't a damn thing to be done about it. Aiieee!
